University Hospital Limerick is seeking a dedicated Consultant in Paediatrics to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for children in our busy department, combining clinical excellence with leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Leadership: Lead and support the Paediatric team, including Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs), fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Patient Care: Deliver expert, evidence-based care for paediatric patients, ensuring timely treatment and optimal outcomes.
• Service Development: Contribute to the development and performance of the Paediatric Department as part of the Clinical Directorate Service Plan, aligning with hospital goals and national healthcare policies.
• Quality & Safety: Lead quality improvement projects, audits, and risk management activities to ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
• Collaboration: Work with hospital management and teams to implement changes and improve the delivery of paediatric emergency services.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Consultant in Paediatrics
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on patient safety and continuous improvement.
• Eligable for IMC specialist registration

Location: University Hospital Limerick
Hours: 37 per week
