Locum Surgery Senior House Officer

Job description

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preoperative and postoperative management of surgical patients
• Perform minor surgical procedures under supervision
• Participate in ward rounds, clinics, and operating theatres
• Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and clinical progress accurately
• Provide on-call cover and respond to acute surgical emergencies
• Collaborate with consultants, registrars, and the wider healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care

Requirements

• Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• At least one year of post-internship clinical experience (SHO level preferred)
• Previous experience in surgery or related specialties is highly desirable
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
