Emergency Medicine Consultant – Wexford

Wexford General Hospital, a 280-bed facility within the Ireland East Hospital Group (IEHG), offers a wide range of healthcare services, including inpatient, outpatient, day care, outreach, and emergency care. The hospital is easily accessible, located just an hour south of Waterford, two and a half hours from Cork, and just over an hour from Dublin.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing high-quality emergency care to patients in a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Leading the Emergency Department (ED) alongside other Consultants, managing clinical operations and ensuring the best patient care.
• Developing and supervising systems of care for all ED patients.
• Mentoring and training the Non-Consultant Hospital Doctor (NCHD) team.
• Supporting non-medical clinical staff and ensuring a smooth and efficient ED environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Eligibility for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) under Specialist Registration.
• Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM) or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as an Emergency Medicine Specialist or Consultant.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
