Locum Rheumatology Consultant

Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist rheumatology consultations and ongoing management for patients with a variety of conditions, including autoimmune diseases, inflammatory arthritis, and connective tissue disorders
• Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound-guided joint injections (if applicable)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care
• Participate in clinical audits, teaching, and supervision of junior doctors
• Engage in departmental meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation

Requirements

• Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Rheumatology or equivalent
• Significant experience as a consultant or senior specialist in rheumatology
• Proficiency in advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities for rheumatologic conditions
• Eligibility to work in Ireland, as sponsorship will not be provided for locum vacancies
